Piotr Beczala’s final performance in Rigoletto broadcast live by Metropolitan Opera

Piotr Beczala’s return to Michael Mayers’s Las Vegas-themed Rigoletto at the Metropolitan Opera will be aired as part of the Met’s much-loved Saturday Matinee Broadcast series. The performance begins at 1:00 pm EST on December 12.

The star tenor, who was praised in an earlier run of Rigoletto for “[stealing] the show, offering outrageous cool-cat charisma as the Duke, singing and moving with immaculate grace,” sings opposite Zeljko Lucic in the title role and Nadine Sierra as Gilda. Roberto Abbado conducts.
